Nostalgia

I took the effort of cleaning my main closet this summer and found some cool old stuff. 90’s kids, take heart.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is the first edition of issue #1 of the Ren and Stimpy comic book. It’s going for about $8 online. This isn’t really the big deal though because on the back piece of cardboard…

…are hockey player signatures. I remember this day fairly well, and it was cool to see UVM grad John LeClair. You just can’t not get his autograph.

Ah yes, pogs. This was hands down my favorite slammer. Bought it at a gift shop on a family trip to Lake Placid.

Big Simpsons fan, and these are episode guides. The first one is seasons one through eight and is pretty worn.

“Songs from the Backseat”. I believe this came with Nickelodeon Magazine subscription. Anyway, it drove my Mom nuts and we had to retire it.

When I was young I had aspirations of being in the movie biz, so naturally the first person I wrote a letter to was the President. Blew my little mind when even this form letter came back.

8-ball pocket board, Goosebumps pogs… yep, it’s the 90’s alright.

Got these babies when I joined the Goosebumps fan club. As a lefty, they sucked.

You truly haven’t lived until you’ve had these as a teenage fad. Right up there with Tamigotchi.

I had some baseball cards. Highlight: a Barry Larkin one I got from a pack of Bazooka Joe gum. Also, Bart Simpson.

We already talked about you.

Not pictured: my Game Boy Pocket (no idea where it is) and my DSi. I did love me some Nintendo portable gaming.

I was desperately hoping to find my Talkboy. No luck. But here is proof I owned it. “Hi kids, we’re home early!”
